We all are affected today by Data Privacy matters. All of us. And it’s attendant repercussions continue to snowball.
However, there are remedies to this issue. And help is on the way.
First, Data Privacy is a global issue. And it is growing. 4.1 billion data records were identified as “compromised” during just the first six months back in 2019. And the problem has only escalated in the last few years.
And, according to researcher Techbeacon, only 18% of the world’s countries have any regulations at all on “data precaution”.
Further, Google actively tracks 48% of all internet traffic. As do many other companies.
Finally, from employee – focused publication HR Dive, 33% of organizations they polled recently say they are not operating with any formal policy in place to protect employee's data.
Next, there are major moves to address Data Privacy issues and help is finally on the way.
GDPR or the General Data Protection Regulation, is the latest Data Privacy organization to be formed and it’s in Europe, historic home of data privacy concerns for some time now.
Today, 10% of companies use ad – blocking software. And increased control of AdTech efforts are growing in an effort to limit the amount of personal data ads collect online these days.
So, what can be done about all this? How do we begin to have a strategy to keep our data more secure? What do we do to keep data more private?
It’s about time I rolled out some “ business tips” to be more successful about data privacy. I’ve included those below.

93% of Americans say it’s important to have control over who has access to their personal data. So companies need to be transparent about data access at every turn.
Tip # 2. Employee the latest data protection - related technologies (encryption, etc.) in your organization. Such technologies demonstrate your organization’s commitment to “data dignity”, a very hot topic in today’s world.
Until we get together again to knock around some new ideas, I’ll see you.
